We are excited to announce our first ever live play. It is called “heavens gates & hells flames”. Showings will be at St. Stephens Elem. School at the following dates/times:

Fri May 18 @ 8 pm
Sat May 19 @ 8 pm
Sun May @ 11 am

3 showings means you can find a slot in your busy schedule to check it out! Pull around to the back of the school and park outside the gymnasium, as that is where we will bet setting up the play. They have a stage built in the gym so the atmosphere will be perfect.

Bring a friend, I promise you won’t regret it.

Hey if you live in the Hickory area bring your young’ens to 904 3rd Ave NW on Saturday April 14 for our family fun day!

We’ll be kicking it off at 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. or so….we’ll have a free jump house for the kids along with free hot dogs and soda.

Going to have a couple other extra curricular activities that we are putting the final touches on right now also.

In 2011, we saw a number of worldwide events that are bringing end times prophecy closer to fruition. Let me list a few:

-Earthquakes (even a moderate one on the entire east coast of the US)
-Political Instability in Europe (setting the stage for the anti-christ to take power after the rapture)
-Diminished role of the US in foreign affairs (no mention of US in end times events)
-Moral debasement of American culture (gay marriage)
-Israel facing increasing threats to it’s safety (Iranian & Russian alliance)

All of the above are events that people would be foolish to ignore. They are signs that Jesus is coming back….soon!

However, the larger issue that people need to realize is that they are hopelessly lost in their sin outside of becoming born again believers in Jesus Christ.
Whether Jesus returns for his church this year or 100 years from now this truth remains a constant. What about you? Do you have a real relationship with
Jesus? Or do you just pay lip service to God every once in a while when it’s convenient?

I can ask that question because I used to be one of those people who say they “believe” in Jesus….but whose actions suggest otherwise.
I went to church once in a while…sang the hymns….even took communion. I suppose I felt like I was good to go until I could get back in church until
the next communion service….so I could be forgiven of the sins that I intended to repeat within a few hours of leaving church.

I thank God that he opened my eyes when I was 23 years old and revealed to me that I was NOT saved. I was deceiving myself. God showed me that I needed
to genuinely repent and believe Jesus to set me free from my sinful lifestyle. By God’s grace, I got saved in July of 2000 and God began to set me free of the sinful
habits that plagued my life for so many years. I am so thankful for what God has done for me, and I am continually amazed at his grace which he displays to me every day.

If you have read this post perhaps you would open your heart to God and believe on Jesus. 2012 is the year to stop playing games and get right with God. If you live in or near Hickory NC and you need a church to call your own I know just the place!

We are thankful that a big group of folks from our mother church in Jacksonville, NC traveled 4.5 hours to help us tell folks here in Hickory about Jesus! Also special thanks to Pastor Duckett for bringing a crew all the way from Charleston, S.C. and Pastor Mitch Collins & family from Charlotte for all of their tremendous help.

Here’s a shot of most of the outreach team:

We had good results, many people were open and a total of
6 people prayed a “sinner’s prayer” to be forgiven of their
sins through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

What is a “sinner’s prayer” and why do we bother with it? (you might ask)

1 John 1:9 tells us that the way to be forgiven is very simple:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

To cap it off we are seeing visitors come to church events (movies)
and church services as a result of this outreach!

After about 4 months of work to the interior and some to the exterior of our new building, our church is ready!

The building has some history behind it, it’s about 50 years old. The finished product is well worth the wait and my wife and I (and 2 sons) are excited about what lies ahead for us. I will be posting some pics here real soon.

Everyone is welcome to attend church service! We are having services on Sundays and Wednesdays. Our “official” grand opening is on April 24th…which happens to be Easter.

We will be having an “End Times” Film Festival on Friday the 22nd, Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th. We will show the films each night at 7 pm. Ever wonder about how the last days will unfold and how close we may be to the return of Jesus Christ? These short films will shed light on these issues…

And of course we do not charge anything for admission. We want you to be amazed at the accuracy of Bible prophecy, even in 2011!
